Luis Bacalao

Luis is an Operating Partner at Khosla Ventures where he focuses on strategic transactions and special projects across the portfolio. He has a deep background in the legal and business matters affecting high technology startups throughout their life cycle.

Prior to KV, Luis served as General Counsel at Y Combinator’s Continuity Fund from 2021 until 2023. Luis was also Assistant General Counsel at Khosla Ventures from 2016 to 2021. He started his career at Fenwick & West in San Francisco and Davis, Polk & Wardwell in New York.  Throughout these experiences, Luis has negotiated and closed hundreds of deals across stage, scope, and jurisdiction.  

Luis holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
